SANGRI

SANGRI
The village of Sangri lies at the southeast part of the island, 11 km from Chora. It is built in a fertile plateau and impresses with its traditional cycladic colours. Sangri has many windmills and Byzantine churches.
At this village you will see the venetian Tower of Somaripa, while in Gyroulas the ancient temple of Demetra.
It is worth visiting the ancient monastery of the Holy Rood from the 16th century BC, the monastery of Saint Eleftherios and the churches of Saint Nikolas and Saint Artemios.
